Reverend Michael Allen
Pastor, Pleasant Union Christian Church of North Raleigh
Reverend Michael Allen has dedicated over 47 years to ministry, with 37 of those years spent pastoring the beloved congregation at Pleasant Union Christian Church in North Raleigh. Throughout his career, Pastor Allen has also embraced a variety of roles—life coach, library assistant, financial assistant, and administrative assistant—all of which have deepened his understanding of service, leadership, and the vital importance of contributing to the well-being of others.
One of the most profound lessons he's learned over the years is that leadership isn't about being in charge or standing at the front. True leadership often takes the form of serving quietly behind the scenes—helping others thrive and offering support wherever it’s needed most. Whether in ministry, in his professional life, or within his family experiences, Pastor Allen has found that his greatest blessings come from acts of service, and he hopes his own life has been a blessing to those around him.
For the past 50 years, Pastor Allen has been fortunate to share this journey with his wife, who has stood by his side in both ministry and life. Together, they’ve raised three wonderful children; Quincy, Jynette, and Christle. Through all these experiences, he's reminded that the greatest blessings in life come not from titles or positions, but from the opportunities to serve and uplift others.
